We begin the process of putting the house on the market. Donna, who was the agent for the Airport Road property, till she was gazumped by a more aggressive agent, continued a very supportive relationship with Tui and Lionel over the years. Our friendship makes it easy for us to sort out the process. Not an easy one and needing trust. Properties in the area go quickly and there are not many in the price range of 2 Fir Close. Tui and Lionel enjoyed living here, Airport Road became too big as they neared their nineties. It was ten acres with a big shed and garden and 4 kms out of town. Tui put the pressure on to move and when she saw Fir Close bought when it had just been listed, without stepping inside. An elderly couple built it and the house turned out well for Tui and Lionel. Easy to live pin, and on a corner section so it felt spacious.
John tidies up the garden. After lunch members of St Aidans congregation come to collect Lionel's organ. He bought it when they moved to Alex where he taught himself to play. It's a Technics beast with any number of buttons, lights and levers. Lionel would be rapt to see it go to the right home.
That leaves preserving the apricots for this year. I've bought Sundrop and teach John the overflow method. Tick. John, Lynette and I go to the Post Office in Clyde for dinner. Tick. We've all earned it.
