A dog barks at 3am in Ohau Village. Wakes the owner who looks out the window and sees a wall of flame. He bolts to the village civic defence alarm which alerts the village and they all make it to safety. They're in the Mackenzie Country but we can see the smoke in the colour of the sky.
Here in Alex, it's a slow day. Another nor wester so it's hot and we take it slow. Nic has a rare day off and Lionel and I drive to Clyde. It's Sunday. People are out and about, we're in the country, life is easy. I stop in at Maxine's shop, she's organising her art. Girl Smoking minus the Pearl Earring. The day ends with gossip over a jigsaw at Lynette's.
