Laundry Love/ Tile Trivia

It's Wednesday, free afternoon. I race to College Ave to catch Pete installing the laundry drawers. He's very proud of his work and it has been worth waiting for. Zevon, who does much of the donkey work in the workshop, is there too. Another proud joiner. Meanwhile the tiling is continuing. There's not a lot of room but Rosie and Dylan are used to working around each other and duck and dive slapping the tiles on the wall. And the walls take shape. They look great. I'm not sure about Rosie cutting tiles without a mask, there's dust everywhere, but I don' like to ask. I've asked Kahu not to sit in the seat while she's there. Llew died with dust in his lungs and his schliosis (spelling?) was linked to it.

I go back to school to mark. My Year 11's are writing an essay and need feedback. They're not where they should be skillwise at this time of year. Covid disruption has had an impact and they're struggling because we haven't had time to practise this skill. I use my super powers here and later my other super power, cake baking, to make Kendra's birthday carrot cake. Memphis is there to give advice. My last job, scraping plastic film off the moss tiles. It's thin and friable and bits flake off sticking to wherever they settle. I get through four boxes and go to bed at midnight.
