Bath Spout Dramas

Monday and it all starts again. In the car on the way to school I tell Kahu that I really need a sick day. I'm so exhausted. I meet Rene on site to discuss electrics and babble. I'm in manic mode. Rene offers to order the light switches and plugs...beyond me at the moment. My focus is bath spouts. Confronted with tiling the wall the bath taps are in, prompts me to go back to Reece Plumbing. I want a bath spout not the basin spout I've ended up with. The rim of the bath is 80mm and needs the longer spout. At least I need the option. So I front up and try to stand my ground. "It's not my mistake," I say. Nor it is. The compromise we reach...they'll supply a new bath spout without the taps. Their view, that it won't work as the two components, spout and taps, are out of proportion.  I'll take my chances. Sherrill's advice, buy a new bath. But they look like the plastic shit they are. No thanks.

On site, Lance is finishing up. It's been 6 weeks. He's doing final touches and Kahu tidies his stuff for him. Ian and the girls are flat out in the bathroom. The gib board is disappearing...the laser light ensures the rows are straight. I have final chat with Rene, say goodbye to Lance. Feels like the end of an era. Last house errand...sink discussion at Nicky's. She's hitting the wall too. But then, she's building two houses and renovating two. And helping me with mine. No wonder.

Auckland comes out of Level 2.5 lock down and are able to travel round the country. We'll see whether this works.
