Today is the big day for the bath. Next steps. I need to get it from the garage at College Ave to the bath doctor. I've got the school van organised but I need to find someone to help lift it in. I back into the drive and a couple of Chinese gents in an SUV parked close to my driveway offer to move. I knock on their window and they're happy to offer their muscle power. The bath goes in easily. I'm relieved but knew I could make it work. I've roped in complete strangers before. It's a story everyone can tell over dinner.
We drive to Barry's unit on Mace's Rd. He's all robed up scraping down the inside of a bath. He wants to make sure I've got the right foot and attachment before we take the bath out of the van. I have faith in Vintage Wonderland Alistair who said it was an exact match. It is. I mention to Barry I want to keep the bottom of the bath white. He doesn't hesitate...most people go black with chrome feet. All chrome, one colour. Hmmm. I have to keep revising. But he says he won't start till the middle of September so I've got time.
On the way back we stop in at Vintage Wonderland and I buy three handles. Not as easy as it sounds but I find three. We pick up the car and head home. One more job ticked off.
