Another Week Rolls Round

I hate getting up on Mondays. The first of five. The kids are the same and my Year 10 class which bounces off the walls in a different classroom on Tuesday before lunch is silent as a dead canary in a coal mine on Monday period 2. I do some phone errands to sort out tiles, and the bath. I try to organise getting it to the bath doctor today but he won't be in town. I calm down and slow down. Things will take as long as they take. A council inspector calls to check he can get in to inspect the shower prep. I ask him how much and he said it's been paid for. Excellent. Extra expenses are more than annoying at this stage, especially for council bullshit bureaucracy.

In the meantime Rene is back on site putting an inside power socket in and getting the garage door working. I'm stoked when I press the control and the door goes up. And down. I've never had one of these before. Luxury. He shows me the outside tread lights and I recoil at the plastic cases on the weatherboards. Plastic never looks good on anything. And it feels like wall spaces are being filled up with vents and miscellaneous clutter. They look better bare. Kahu and I stop at Resene to look at colours for the bottom of the bath but by the end of my bike ride I'm of the opinion white might be the best option. Keep it simple stupid...KISS.
