I meet Kirk on site for an early morning update. We discuss what needs sorting- the downpipes which Kirk doesn't like so I give him the job of ringing Clearwater Spouting, he's got more credibility and I've already paid them. Oops. An extra man hole. He's not keen due to not being able to see where pipes and cables are. I'll go up to take a look but it's a long way from one end of the house to the other. And other odds and ends that come up as we walk through. The boys are on site pouring cement for the verandah foundations. Rene comes in to cut holes for the down lights and put a safer plug in the outside box. Lance is on the job.
Kirk puts me in touch with his mechanic. I ring and drive out. Neil at Hornby Tires is so helpful and nice. He lifts the hood, pokes around and diagnoses straight away. Thermostat, radiator, and I point at the front brakes. They're worn. He gives me the keys to a loan car and I drive off much lighter.
I take Kahu to school. Poor buggar's got an assessment to do. I have a marking meeting. Enough said. A teacher's holidays happen at Christmas when the year is finished. Until then it's a work in progress. We wind up the day and the week with Lance.
