Lance wants to get going with the painting. Unfinished holes in the ceiling, not to mention unfinished cornices which are held up by the unfinished plaster arch, are holding him up. I keep calm and carry on. Today the other Lance and his sidekick are coming to cut holes for the fan vents in the two bathrooms and the laundry. I want them to move all three. The one in the laundry is centre ceiling near the light fitting, and the two bathroom vents are in the skylights. Plastic, in my opinion, is not a great ceiling enhancement. Lance and his mate are willing to go along, they have to be because I'm paying, but they're not convinced. So the man with the mo, I wish I could remember his name, climbs through the manhole and clambers through the roof space. Meanwhile I ask Lance about the 250 mm hole in my bedroom ceiling. He says it's not in the best place for air flow, his opinion differs to Mathew's, and yes, by the door will work. Out of sight out of mind.
The first move is easy, in the ensuite there's lots of space. The main bathroom is more problematic and takes time. In the end a pipe is moved, slightly I hope or Gary, the plumber, is going to be unhappy. I get whatshisname to check out the vents in the dining and living rooms which I would like further in the corner. It appears they can't be moved due to the ceiling space joinery. All good, now I know. The laundry vent is a fiddle and Lance has to tape extra ducting as it's further away. Done. I take a blog pic and they're off. All in all it's been a good humoured exercise.
I bump into Kirk who's come to organise the wardrobe shelves. We go over a few other things. He still doesn't like his photo taken.
I go back and get Kahu to give him some air. We go to an art exhibit on the way home: Rectify This Painting. I see lots of people I know. We're all loving getting out of the house. Nice Central Otago Reisling from Alex K vineyard.
