Day 39- Sunny Sunday

It's a nor wester. The sun stops at the mountains. That's as far as the clouds come after they have rained all over the west coast. I get over to the house early afternoon and annoy Lance. Actually he's very sociable and likes a chat. We've got Papanui High School in common. It's where Lance went to school. I try to stay out of his way, filling the last nail holes. Inefficient but I get the job done. It's warm, good weather for drying paint and Lance makes good progress down the south side. Says there's lots of gaps to fill. More than Linnea board. He's been painting and papering since 15 and a pro. The work is excellent. Robyn bikes over and I take her for a tour. Leadlight scratches and all.
Covid news- 2 new cases in New Zealand. Since the move to level three the police have received 1200 reports of mass gatherings. More than 680 have been between Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Human nature. We're letting our guard down. Carefully I hope but caution goes out the window at a good party. The global total of reported cases sits at 3.5 million, with 240,000 deaths.
