Kevin Comes Back

We stop in to unlock the door for Rene to find Kevin and the team. Kevin's trying to get into the lock box to find the plans so he can nut out the new driveway. It's got to be in the right place. I'm so pleased to see him I nearly hug him. He's his inimitable cheery self. They get out the tape measure, scratch their heads and have another look at the plans. I return at 10 am to meet Rene but he's got sick grandkids. There's a father/son team digging in the gutter. I think they're marking the length of the new drive. I feel like a coffee so drive to Ambrose Heal. Pete's corner is looking nearly finished. Fewer road cones anyway. School is busy. I'm keeping my head above water, just in front of the kids. They've got one internal to go, if they do it.

Back at College Ave, Cam and Josh are putting the skirting on. Josh is measuring and marking, Cam is attaching. Says it's fiddly. I'm killing time till the Media awards start and I sift around the garden. The Pappies are in the school hall which is packed, suffocating and smelly. But the kids have produced work worthy of broadcast school. The Year 11's do an ad, the Year 12's a film trailer, and the Year 13's a short film. Two of mine produce a romance starring their dogs. Creative and hilarious. We pitch in to pack up and it takes a while. Then it's off to Helen's for a well earned drink. A very long day.
