120 Grit Finish

It's a flooring day. After the marathon of teaching. Seniors are gearing up for exams, except we're still finishing internals which means pushing, cajoling, and telling lies. The kids are as worn out and over it as I am. But the fat lady hasn't sung the aria. At the house I interrupt John to check out the floor which has been spot filled and sanded to a 120 grit finish. There's a warm glow and it looks good. The odd crack in the floor boards because we didn't flood fill, but all in all, I'm very happy. I meet Ian to discuss next steps for finishing his work. There's only the laundry to go. He was going to put a heating mat down to make the floor level with the wood, but I've flagged it as that would mean two people doing the entry which could get complicated. I bike up the hill and collapse after dinner. Kahu wakes me with a cup of very milky tea but I don't complain. It's the thought that counts.
