Walkabout Tuesday

My petrol costs are going to dramatically drop once this build is finished. Today I go to Trinity Glass to find replacement glass for the lamps. Plain glass. Kay is happy to see me...glad I haven't worn out my welcome. Tells me she was saying last week she hadn't seen me for a while. It feels like meeting up with an old friend. I've been coming in and out since before the build asking Kay about windows, and even before that to repair a lamp which I bought in Camden Market and sold on Marketplace, wish I hadn't. Kay goes through her stock of glass looking for 3mm, same as I've taken out, and 4mm which she is sure will fit, and she's got a greater range of it.

Next stop is Pete at Ambrose Heale. His corner is looking a lot tidier. How long have they been working on it now? Pete hand writes me a bill, putting everything that needs to be finished on it.  He's having a small operation tomorrow, "Just in case something happens." He shows me the laundry bench top which is now going to be shelves- the wood, hand picked, might be wasted on shelves. The top half anyway. By the time I get to the house the Morgan team have finished for the day. They work in increments and the showers are steadily going ahead. The recess with the Day of the Dead tile looks better than I originally thought, more palatable with the trim on it. It's not going anywhere now. On the way home I stop at Designastyle to pick up the specially couriered black pencil tiles, all 7 of them. Heather's is there...an ongoing friendship because we keep turning up in the same random places year after year with some gaps. She does accounts for D Style, and others. And last stop, Resene where I pick up paint cards featuring their range of green, to find a shade for the bath with Anjie's help, tomorrow. Done for today.
