It's Friday and I've made it to the end of the week without a sick day. Just. Mid morning I meet Rene and Finlay to sort out lighting- bits I've bought and picked up, and bits I've not found. Like half the lighting strips. The other half were supplied but not cut. In the middle, Joan, my Nutrimetics "lady," calls in to deliver a life saving pot of Nutrimoist, a product I've been using since 14. When I was overseas I would get Kiwi visitors to bring it over. That's brand loyalty. The other brand I'm loyal to, but not exclusively, is Levis. I've still got the first pair I bought in 1976. They were about $60, very expensive at the time, but value for money as it turns out. They still fit and I wear them when it's ripped jeans day at school. In one piece but rotted down the front of the legs.
Finlay and Rene walk round the house with a list. I organise to meet Finlay tomorrow. It's probably the tenth time I've been in and the team at Lighthouse knows me well, but I'm not quite there. Not sure if it's me or them. Cam is on site fitting the door handles. He's swearing a bit cos they're troublesome. They look good if a bit crooked at the moment. My car gets a warrant, one of the cheapest ever. Good timing money wise. The costs of finishing the house keep coming, several I didn't predict. I pick up the green capping tiles. I'm nearly there with these too, and the girls at Designastyle know me well too. Back at school there's drinks in the office, a celebration. Day's end... Robyn cooks me dinner and when we can't get into a friend's gig, 100 max under Covid restrictions, we find a random club with rockers playing covers. It's been a big week and enough is enough.
