Front Door Handle Crisis

So I'm behind with the front door handle. It took me a while to order I have to admit. Lance tells me we will have to put a hole in the door to secure it after he's painted and fixed it up. Buggar. News on the handle is that it will be here next week but the lock has to come from Australia and that will be another two weeks. No good for the paint job. I have a cuppa with Lance on the front verandah- it's a cool place to watch the kids coming and going from school. Eventually I will have some greenery growing along the front but deciduous so winter sun can come in.

We call at Interior Effects on the way home and I pick up the handles which have arrived. There's a few more to come but I decide to pick up what's there in case the builders get round to putting them in. Feels like sorting out the handles has become bitsy. Bigger news is that there are four cases of community spread Covid in Auckland. Uncertain times. At 10 pm when I'm watching the BBC I watch a news clip of Jacinda making an announcement that Auckland will go into Level 3 lock down from midday tomorrow. Shortly after my phone makes an alarming sound, a Covid notification. The rest of New Zealand will be at Level 2. Fingers crossed. I feel sorry for Auckland. Puts my front door handle crisis into perspective.
