We're back to hand sanitiser and Zoom meetings at school. And one way stairs and post break tracing for the kids. It's like we slip back into the old routine. Nobody blinks an eyelid but we don't do it as thoroughly or as consciously as we did last time. There's a casualness to Covid safety on the way up the levels, perhaps because Auckland feels a long way away. Cam and Jamie are on site measuring the paths and putting in framing. Progress.
I pick up momentum on the search to solve the broken claw foot. I'm optimistic, not sure why, but it's not as easy as all that. I ring Bruce at the Pump House and he confirms he has a set of four. After school when I see them, they're smaller and not as bird like as mine so I ditch that option. I call in at the Pink Elephant, a second hand shop. No luck. I drop in to Lighthouse to check on odds and ends and Steve tells me of a mate who does welding and knows a guy down the road who he' sure can sort it. I'm sure this is problem solved. Another positive, Alan says I can return two alabaster wall lights I bought on impulse. I see a very nice lamp and arrange to exchange them. It's about relationships and who knows who.
