It's the last day of Kahu's quarantine- out tomorrow. I spend the morning marking and have a google meet with both Year 10 classes. One turns out to be horrendous. I can't access on my laptop so use my phone, and one student plays up badly. I don't think to get her off and I wouldn't know how to anyway. Not to mention the logistics of doing this on a tiny keyboard. So I appeal to her better nature. It doesn't work. She's bent on sabotage and she's got the stage. The others stay tactfully silent.
In the afternoon I continue digging and find bucketfuls of concrete, brick and miscellaneous landfill fragments which could cause gardening havoc. There's something satisfying about digging, though.
I drop in to say hi to Robyn...a glass of red at a distance. Chris digs out a 360g slab of Toblerone. I haven't put on any weight yet....Oh, and 6 new cases of Covid in NZ. Globally- 2,653,116, Deaths- 185, 058, Recovered- 727,717.
