Day 25/ Day 10- The Pandemic is a Portal

A quote from Indian writer, Arandata Roy

Historically, pandemics have forced humans to break with the past and imagine their world anew. This one is no different. It is a portal, a gateway between one world and the next. We can choose to walk through it, dragging the carcasses of our prejudice and hatred, our avarice, our data banks and dead ideas, our dead rivers and smoky skies behind us. Or we can walk through lightly, with little luggage, ready to imagine another world. And ready to fight for it.

The total number of confirmed and probable Covid-19 cases in New Zealand stands at 1,431 (1,098 confirmed and 333 probable). A total of 912 people have recovered, an increase of 45 since yesterday. There were four new confirmed cases reported in the last 24 hours and five new probable cases. Ashley Bloomfield, the director general of health, announced that the death in Invercargill last Tuesday has now been “confirmed as Covid-19 related”. An old man about 70 who died in his house.

Was going to update last night but discovered photos have been dropping off the other posts. After investigation with TC from IT this morning, as part of a conversation regarding access to the PHS internet, he took me back to a method of uploading pics he's taught me before which didn't work so well. So....if that's Double Dutch and a ramble, that's what it's been like trying to sort computers for most of my computer using life. I'm not a digital native and if things can go wrong they will.

So Sunday. Quiet, boring,...groundhog day.
