Phone Crisis

English department Friday morning tea

My phone is not charging. I'm gutted. I don't want the expense or the hassle of changing to a new one. I drop in on Pete and a tear escapes my eye. I've hit the wall. He tells me his story of rebuilding the shop. Massively stressful. I can do it but extras wipe out my energy reserves. Pete gives me a coffee then I head to the shop with the phone. Diagnosis, charger. Phew. I leave armed with a new one. The old one is less than a year.
I'm knackered by the end of school and forget I have a period of relief till the phone goes. Oops. My mission today is to buy paint for the weekend. I drive to Hornby and find a real shop. Not a chain and selling anything to do with paint. It's very cool to talk to a guy who knows all about his products. I'm in awe.
Pete calls in on the way home to check out the slider door he is going to sand down. It's going to be a process as the lead light pane has to come out. Another job for Kay. It's not what you know.
It's 7:30 by the time I get to Taylor's and there's a cool easterly. The water is refreshing. Physical. I pick up hot chips and get to the Wunderbar for Rene and Scoff's dj gig. Catch up with friends but I'm ready for bed.
