The Kitchen Sink

Fridays are light days and I've planned errands but have to cancel when I get relief. I manage to shoot out to pick up the broken claw foot and drop off some cake to Pete. I leave it at the door as he's not about. Hopefully that will sweeten him up. I make it back to school for period 2 and a lesson with Kahu. Luckily I am literally a sitter. The rest of the day zooms by. We drop in to see Lance on the way home. He's still painting enamel so I wave from outside. That stuff is toxic but is a tougher finish for the doors, window sills and architraves. He does things properly. The tilers have blocked the doors to the bathrooms. There's shower prep and underfloor heating which needs to sit undisturbed.

I go looking for sinks: kitchen and laundry. I think I've got it....a white composite stone, look alike porcelain, for the laundry and stainless steel for the kitchen. I drop in on Murray Hewitt, kitchen joiner, to ask if he can order the sinks as I have to go through a tradee. My name is on the job board so I suppose my kitchen is getting closer. Timing wise, I need to install about mid September. I think. I also look at handles. My last kitchen decision. It's too confusing so I take pictures instead. I need more head space, or a deadline. But it's the weekend. Kahu has a job trial at a tapas bar and trots off. I cook for Robyn then we drive to drinks at Chris's work mate's, Marie's. It's Friday and I'm buggared. I fall asleep over a glass of Lyttleton, herbaceous and most delicious gin.
