We're all grateful the week's almost over and morning tea in the office is especially jovial. News is coming in that Kahu is creating a stir, especially among the girls. New kid factor. I spend most of lunchtime working and nearly catch up with my marking by the end of the day. Written assignments completed during Covid but there's not a lot. The work rate slowed to almost stand still by the end of lock down, and there's a number of kids who don't appear to be revving the engine yet. My job to push but I don't really feel like it either. Besides, I've got my own kid and the house. Moreover, I'm a finite resource.
Back at College Ave, Lance gives Kahu an older male perspective on nose piercing. Thumbs down. My view, can be grungy. Ears first. Hopefully he mulls this over. We stop at Lighthouse to pay off the remaining fixtures and I cross one more cost off the list. Up the hill it's TGIF Covid style; Chris has a work gathering of 10 people. They work from home on screens so are happily face to face. Me, I've been at close quarters with hundreds at Pap High this week. But we have a low national total, 20 something and only 3 in the South Island. That we know of. 1 new case up north today.
