Smoke in the Air

I forget the building trade keeps going on Saturday morning and arrive at College Ave to find polystyrene blocks filling the footprint. The outline is clearly visible.

Two dimensional- it feels  smaller in the living space and garage than I had pictured and larger down the length of the house. Too late now. I do some digging and find a semi-circle of concrete near the old shed that was. Another mysterious, random item. I bump into several neighbours who are happy  things are progressing. Nice to have their support. And their tolerance of two new builds across the road from each other. There's some scattering of polystyrene fragments round the section but the boys have been remarkably tidy, except for their drink cans. There's an ominous pink tinged pall in the sky. It's a little eerie. Those wild fires in east Australia must be ravenous.
